What Are Presets?

Presets in MIDI Lab are saved prompts with optional tags and descriptions. Generate MIDI once, save the preset, and recall it anytime. Perfect for go-to chord progressions, drum patterns, or genre templates. When you find a prompt that works, save it—you'll use it again.

My Presets

Your saved presets live in My Presets. Edit the prompt, add or change tags, or delete when no longer needed. Presets work with both the MIDI generator (download files) and the Infinite Engine (stream to hardware). Use them as starting points for new tracks or share publicly for others to try.

Building a Preset Library

Start with prompts you use often: "lo-fi jazz chords in C minor," "trap 808 bassline," "evolving ambient pad." Save each as a preset. Tag by genre, mood, or project. Over time you'll have a personal library that speeds up your workflow. See best presets for trap, house, lo-fi and presets + Infinite Engine.
