What You Need to Know

MIDI sends note and control data, not sound. That means one sequence can drive many instruments—a piano, a synth, a drum machine. Change the instrument and the same MIDI produces a different sound. MIDI Lab lets you create MIDI with plain English—no piano roll skills required to start. Describe what you want; the AI generates the notes.

Your First Prompt

Try: "Simple 4-chord progression in C major." Generate in MIDI Lab, preview the result, and download the MIDI file. Drop it into your DAW, assign any instrument, and hit play. You'll hear the chords. Transpose them, change the synth, or edit individual notes—the MIDI is fully editable.

Next Steps

Once you're comfortable with basic prompts, try "trap hi-hats" or "lo-fi jazz chords." Connect Web MIDI if you have hardware and stream to your synths via the Infinite Engine. Save prompts you like to My Presets. Next: getting started and What is MIDI.
