Welcome to MIDI Lab AI

MIDI Lab AI is an AI-powered MIDI generator that runs in your browser. No installation, no desktop app—just sign up and start creating MIDI. It offers three main ways to create MIDI:

  1. Text-to-MIDI: Describe what you want ("trap hi-hats," "lo-fi jazz chords in C minor") and get downloadable MIDI files. Drop them into your DAW or use them with your hardware.
  2. Infinite Engine: Stream evolving MIDI to your hardware synths in real time via Web MIDI. No DAW required—the AI plays your synths live.
  3. Piano Roll Editor: Edit, arrange, and export MIDI in the browser. Generate a draft, tweak it, and export when ready.

First Steps

  1. Sign up at MIDI Lab and claim your free credits.
  2. Try a prompt: "Simple 4-chord progression in G major" or "trap 808 bassline." Generate, preview, and download.
  3. Connect Web MIDI (Chrome or Edge) if you have hardware. Open the Infinite Engine, select your device, and stream.
  4. Save presets: When you find prompts you like, save them to My Presets for quick recall.

Tips for Better Results

Be specific: "lo-fi jazz chords with 7ths in C minor" works better than "chords." Include tempo, key, or genre when it matters. Use the piano roll to tweak generated MIDI—quantize, transpose, or edit individual notes. Next: preset generation and MIDI packs.
